On Thursday I decided to fast for the day in solidarity for those who were fasting for Ramadan. My friend at work is Muslim and fasts during Ramadan so to show support and love for her I decided to join her for 1 day.
During a time where our world is so divided, united we are strong! Love is the only thing that out weighs hate.I want to teach Joshua the importance of this also. 6.00am – I wake up and get ready for work excited for the challenge ahead.8.30am – ok now I’m starving, all I can think about is what I want to eat…this passes after a while.1pm – my throat is sooooo dry, all I want is a glass of water, surprisingly the hunger isn’t bothering me but the lack of water is!6pm – home time. I’ve made it to the end of the work day. Luckily my commute is super quick.7pm – making Joshua’s dinner was torture, my mouth was salivating!!7pm-9.15pm – now personally this was the hardest part of the day, I ordered Chinese and poured myself a glass of water. I literally counted down the minutes, then threw a prawn cracker down throat at 9.15pm! LoollI am very proud of myself for completing the fast, it’s a lot harder than you think. Especially the lack of fluids. The body and mind are powerful things and you can do anything you put your mind to. I had quite a bad headache by the time I went to bed, so the day didn’t come without bad partsI have a new found respect for all those that fast during Ramadan, and who knows I may do it again before the end.Remember …. love one another ❤️❤️With love from JadeXxX
