Barcelona Trip

As my partner is annoyingly hard to buy for, I decided to surprise him with a mini break to Barcelona.I told him a few days before so he could at least get a hair cut lolDay 1.We arrived in Barcelona at 4pm on Sunday which is actually my partners birthday. Neither of us had ever been to Barcelona so we we’re excited to explore the beautiful city.We headed to the metro station and bought a 4 day travel card. This gives you access to the metro, trams and buses. This is great value at under €28 each. We recently travelled to Paris and the same travel card was more than quadruple this.

The metro from the Airport took us directly to our hotel which was located near the infamous Camp Nou. (Barcelona Football Club for the non football fans)As we had dinner reservations we showered, got changed and headed out. We got the bus down to Barceloneta Carpe Diem Lounge was recommended to me and it did not disappoint. We had a lovely table right on the beach front and a fantastic view of the W hotel.

There is a relaxed, trendy vibe at CDL which makes you feel very cool!!

The cuisine is Asian Fusion, we were impressed with our food and wine from start to finish. It was a fantastic setting for my partners birthday and a great start to our holiday. It is slightly pricey, but it’s worth it. Day 2.We wake up on our first full day and decide to head to the gym….well it was a gym from 1972 so we didn’t stay long! LolI had heard a lot about the gothic quarter in Barcelona so headed for there. We wondered around amazed by the architecture. We stumbled across the Cathedral and stopped and took a few photos. They don’t do it justice…it is truly breathtaking.

We then decided to walk down La Ramba, taking various pit stops. We stopped at a great food market, which was full of bright colours and spices.

Our final stop was a little gem of a restaurant near port vell, named FOC They serve a mix of Latin food, which was tasty and reminded me of the times we spent in Brasil! The wine was great and the food was so reasonably priced. I 100% recommend you go here if you are planning a trip to Barca.

After dessert, we wondered down the beach and headed home.Day 3.As the pool wasn’t great at our hotel I decided to find a trendy beach club we could go to in the day. Puro Beach is a beach club on the terrace of the Hilton Hotel. It’s white beds, waiter service, Moët and crystal clear water have you feeling very celeb like. At €70.00 per bed it’s very indulgent. This includes a small bottle of water and some fruit so not sure it’s worth it…but it was a lovely treat.

We headed down to Barceloneta for something to eat and actually loved FOC so much we ate there again! 😂
We strolled down to the W hotel where there was a magnificent classical concert outside. We didn’t go into the bar, as we weren’t appropriately dressed but it’s meant to be lush. There is also a beach club at the bottom of the W, for a daytime spot.

Day 4.After a fabulous lie in (I made sure I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I will soon be waking up at 6am with Josh 😂) we packed our bags and checked out.We left our bags at the hotel and headed to the museum of Catalunya The views of the city are amazing and the museum is full of modern art and contemporary installations. Great if you’re a bit arty farty.

We got the metro to the Olympic port and decided to find a good Mediterranean restaurant with great authentic food. We chose La Fonda Del Port Olimpic , their signature dish is seafood paella. They had a special deal, Mon-Friday 12-4.30pm. This was for a minimum of 2 people and was €16.00pp. Now please go here hungry…you get a mixed tapas to share which is enough to feed 4 people, a main course each…a dessert and wine. To finish off they give you a complimentary shot! The seafood as I expected was very fresh and tasty. Great little find in the area.

We had a final cocktail at a bar and then headed to airport…

We’ve had a great few nights and I absolutely love Barcelona and would 100% come back. We missed Joshua a lot, but was nice to get away and have some us time! ❤️Thanks for reading. With love from JadeXxx
