Macros is short for macronutrients. Which is basically a term used to describe the three food groups our bodies require; carbs, fats and protein.
Depending on your goal and activity level normally depends on your macro ratios. I’m currently trying to gain muscle so I’m eating quite a high protein diet without eating low carbs as I don’t want to lose weight. Carbs are not the devil people!!I currently use the My Fitness Pal app. It’s great, it allows you to; customise your goals, change your macros and scan items which contain all their nutritional value. This is a great way to see how much you’re eating, where your nutrients & vitamins are coming from and keep on top of your goals.
Counting macros isn’t for everyone, it can be tedious keeping a food diary but for me it helps me ensure I eat enough protein in the day.
